Booking and Availability Management
There are a number of systems increasingly involving autmoated
booking and availability management. These systems are still
being listed. Certainly central availability management is
receiving great results. The problem is the listing must be kept up to
date.
Booking system are receiving a mixed response. The
concept has been around for a long time via tourist information
centres. Many people still like to deal direct with the
accommodation provider or venue they will be using.
This
can lead to complicated situations such as double booking. IE if
someone books online on an automated system while someone else phones
and books a B and B with a manual system.
Customer Service
Procedures, that destination management and tourism businesses sign up
to ,need to be clearly laid out in this type of situation to avoid a
detrimental customer experience.
